House of Wax is a thriller movie directed by Jaume Collets-Serra. The prologue of the movie shows a family of four- mother, father and their twin sons. One of the twins is shown to be mentally retarded. Moving to the main part of the movie we have six teenagers on their way to watch a football match. Paris Hilton (Paige Edwards) makes her debut in this movie. Blake is Paige’s boy friend. They are joined by Paige’s friend Carly Jones (Elisha Cuthbert), her boy friend Wade and his brother Nike with his friend Dalton. They decide to camp in a field at night where they are visited by a stranger. The other day morning they find their vehicle’s fan belt to be torn. So Carly and Wade goes to a strange town to get a new belt. They discover the town to be spooky with all its inmates made of wax. They find a mechanic named Bo who takes them to his house to offer a new belt. On their way he tells them about a Museum which is made of wax and the history behind it. Once they reach Bo’s house Carly decides to wait outside and Wade goes in. There he is smacked by stranger and is embalmed into wax. Bo snatches Carly and his brother Nike comes to her rescue. Later they get to know that that Bo and Vincent were twin brothers. By this time the deadly duo continue their killing streak with Paige, Blake and Dalton being their prey. The rest of the story shows how Carly and Nike survived from the deadly duo. The art direction was good by creating a house, completely made of wax. Melting the entire house down at the end was unnecessary though!
